Finding Child Care (Referrals)

Child Care Opportunities Resource Development Center (RDC) can help you find child care that will meet your needs.  The RDC maintains a data base of all licensed and legal child care providers in Hancock and Washington counties.  Our Resource and Referral Specialist can look at your specific needs and provide you with child care options (referrals) that most nearly meet those needs.

We will provide you with a list of all licensed/legal child care providers that meet your criteria. We do not recommend specific child care providers. We will provide you with information about what to look for when seeking child care,  provider status in the Quality for ME program, and other specific information that may assist you in choosing the program that will meet your needs.  If you have a child with a special need, we will work with you to find a program that can meet your child’s unique needs. If a provider needs additional resources in order to serve your child, the RDC can work with the provider to provide technical assistance or to identify and find  resources.

Child care referrals are available by phone or by dropping into our office Monday – Friday (8:30-4:30); through email request; or online on this web site. Referral services are free regardless of how you access them.
