Child Care Opportunities Resource Development Center (RDC) is a child care resource and referral agency serving Hancock and Washington counties.The RDC is a program of Child and Family Opportunities, Inc. an agency that has been providing early care and education services to Hancock and Washington counties for 40 years.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Child Care Opportunities Resource Development Center (RDC) is to promote the availability, affordability and accessibility of quality child care in Hancock and Washington counties.
CORE SERVICES
Core Services include resource and referral services and consumer education services for families; training, technical assistance and professional development services for early education and child care providers; and collaboration, education, and advocacy with communities.
Child Care Opportunities RDC provides services in three core areas.
Parent Services are available for parents and families seeking child care or other early care and education opportunities for their children. The RDC maintains an updated data base of all licensed and legal exempt child care providers in both counties. The RDC can also provide information on how to choose quality child care, information on child care subsidies and financial assistance, and information and links for other services related to children and families. All of our services to parents are free.
Provider Services include free technical assistance and consultation services to all child care providers, low cost training and professional development opportunities, a quarterly newsletter and a resource library. The Child Care Opportunities RDC provides information about child care programs to parents and families seeking child care.
Community Services provide for child care resource development, working with employers around child care issues, public policy and education around early care and education issues. The RDC promotes public awareness of the importance of quality child care and helps employers meet the child care needs of their employees.
